QCM Detection
The QCMA-1 employs quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) detection technology. QCM is the only "direct" label-free detection technique, making it ideal for the analysis of crude samples.
Also due to the oscillation of the QCM sensor, transport of molecules to the detection surface is highly efficient, greatly reducing assay optimization requirements.

| Label-free Detection |
QCM technology detects mass changes
on a sensor surface resulting from the binding of molecules on the sensor surface. By measuring mass changes as they occur, molecular interactions can be monitored directly in real time and without the need for detection labels. |
| Crude Sample Analysis |
Since QCM directly detects the mass changes on the sensor, the optical properties of the tested samples do not interfere with detection, making it an excellent technique for the analysis of crude preparations. |
| Structural Change Determinations |
QCM also measures resistance changes during binding events, which can provide valuable information about structural changes associated with molecular interactions. |
